The roof cavity is where most possums in Narangba end up. It is the space between your ceiling and the roof, and it stays dry and sheltered in any weather. A possum will often sleep in one corner during the day and head out through the same gap each night, which is why you tend to hear it at the same times.

The crew we book checks the roof from outside and from the manhole, looking for the path the possum takes between its sleeping spot and the gap. In newer Narangba homes, that gap is often beside a vent, at a fascia corner or where a patio roof meets the house. In older homes it is more often a loose tile or cracked ridge capping.
A one way door is fitted over the gap. The possum can leave through it but cannot get back in. When the cavity is quiet, the door is removed and the gap is sealed. Other soft spots nearby are proofed at the same time, so the roof cavity is harder to reach from any side.
